From the moment delegates arrive they are given a “self assessment” form and the whole process begins! Delegates are put in to coaching groups and spend the weekend in a variety of sessions designed to be challenging and stretching in all areas. These include…

Coaching sessions:
Each small group is assigned a coach who has experience and a proven track record in leadership and will spend the weekend inputting their skill and wisdom in regular small group sessions. These will sometimes be reflective and about giving feedback on particular sessions but will also be times of bespoke and strategic coaching.

Year group sessions:
Each year has a theme that is their particular focus, sessions to the whole year group will be specifically aimed towards that. The first year theme for 2015 is currently being reviewed and more information will be listed soon.

Full sessions:
We really believe in the power of the presence of God and always take the chance to get all delegates, coaches and staff in one room together to worship Him. We create space for him to speak through the ministry of his word and times of response. Just to highlight one particular session we teach about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and follow that with a practical session in small groups; delegates are encouraged to pray and prophecy over each other. This will also form part of their assessment.

Outdoor/team building sessions:
This is a physically demanding, outdoor, team building session. Small groups will take part in mental and physical challenges led by our drill sergeants, under the watchful eye of coaches. They will be looking at delegate’s attitude and communications skills as well as other areas of assessment.

Coaches will observe and record his/her assessment of each delegate’s leadership ability over the course of the weekend. A comprehensive report will be sent to the recommending youth pastor/leader to then use as they wish. We consider this report to be a snapshot of their current leadership level and not a complete picture. We are not trying to define them for the rest of their lives, good leaders will use this report as a discipleship tool with the delegate throughout the rest of the year.
